The Champions International School’s Sports garden pitch on January 18, was full of praise and worship as the school celebrate 20 years of academic excellence in Nigeria, the school’s mission is to build and deliver quality and trusted education for the good of every child to stand out, celebrated its 20th years of existence in grand style with so many goodwills from community traditional rulers, neighbours, students and parents.
The programme themed “Praise of His Deeds” Psalm 105:1.
Pastor Mrs. Abosede Adekeye, Chief Executive Officer of the school, in her welcome address, explained how the dream of the school comes to reality. While thanking God for His guidance and faithfulness in turning the school, what it is today, she also paid tribute to her husband Pastor Fola Adekeye who is Director of Studies.
She intimated the gathering that by God’s grace, Champions University will soon be established.
She said “we started teaching our children at home and within days, parents brought their children and our living room became our first classroom. Teaching and learning became more exciting inside our living room which is now our Montessori School”.
She further said “It has been 20 years of raising intelligent students, grooming champions, and witnessing God’s unfailing promises,” she said. She recounted how the school started in her living room, with classrooms carved out of a simple family setting, and has now evolved into a state-of-the-art educational institution housed in elegant, purpose-built mansions.
Chief Dr. Idowu Ogunsola, The Oluomo of Aiyedun Kingdom and Chairman of the occasion in his remarks, described the founders as his daddy and mummy Adekeye, said that the success of Champions International Schools is a testament to divine grace and hard work.
Ogunsola said “The successes of this school is driven by dedicated to God, the founders’ vision, understanding parents, unrelenting teachers devotions and committed pupils and students whose their paths cross. It is this testimony of understanding, love, sacrifice, hard work and enthusiasms that we are celebrating here today.”
Oba Alalade Ademuyiwa, Royal Father of the day, thanked the Adekeyes for bringing this giant stride to Magboro and prayed that Champions International Schools will graduate to Champion University.
Ademuyiwa said that proprietors had been taking the lead in community development before he was crowned king in Magboro. He then prayed for all the dignitaries, parents, teachers and students.
Mrs. Dolapo Adekeye-Olushola, in her own speech titled “Working with God to Raise Responsible and Excellent Children,” explained how they started the school, the house becomes theirs in the night while they wakes up so early to dress up and give chance to students to study in their house, while urging parents to be role models and guide their children with wisdom and love.
Community leaders, neighbours and parents commended proprietors for their dedication to academic excellence and community development, in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Dignitaries graced the anniversary were Barrister Kola Adebayo, Baamofi of Ayedun Kingdom; Barrister Yemi Adetiba; Pastor Emmanuel Kelani; Pastor Kunle Adedigba; Dr. Olayinka Oyegbile amongst others.
