A five-year-old prophecy by Nigerian cleric and founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has resurfaced following a fresh move by Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to seek constitutional changes within the United Kingdom.
The development followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by the three nations on Monday, with their leaders calling on the UK government to prepare for constitutional change, arguing that “Westminster’s time is coming to an end.”
The MOU was signed in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, where the First Ministers of the three nations met to deliberate on their future within the United Kingdom.
Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney; Wales’ First Minister, Rhun ap Iorwerth; and Northern Ireland’s First Minister, Michelle O’Neill, reportedly maintained that their respective nations have the right to determine their own political and constitutional future.
The development has drawn attention to a prediction made by Primate Ayodele about five years ago, in which he warned that the United Kingdom’s unity would face serious challenges and that Scotland would push for independence.
In an interview with Tribune Newspaper, the prophet predicted that the unity of the United Kingdom would not remain sustainable in the long term, specifically pointing to Scotland’s push to leave the union.
He said:
> “The United Kingdom’s unity will not survive the next 20 years. Scotland will push to come out of the United Kingdom.”
The prophecy was also reportedly contained in the 2020/2021 edition of Primate Ayodele’s annual prophetic publication, Warnings To The Nations, where he warned of political and economic challenges in the UK and specifically predicted renewed agitation for Scottish independence.
According to the publication:
> “Scotland will strive to get out of UK as UK will face some economic challenges and they will want to protest against the prime minister.”
The latest agreement involving Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland has therefore been described by the prophet’s camp as another development that appears to echo his earlier prediction.
Primate Ayodele’s previous predictions concerning the United Kingdom have also been cited in connection with major political developments in the country.
The cleric had, during a live service, reportedly predicted the departure of a former UK Prime Minister, saying: “UK Prime Minister, I see you saying bye-bye to your seat in the next few months.” His supporters later linked the statement to the politician’s subsequent resignation.
Similarly, at the beginning of Keir Starmer’s administration, Primate Ayodele warned that the British Prime Minister would encounter difficulties over key policy areas, including the National Health Service (NHS), workers’ issues, immigration and the economy.
He reportedly stated:
> “The Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, should be focused because he will face so many troubles on the NHS, workers, immigration law and the economy. There are lots of things they will want him to do which he won’t be able to do.”
He further warned that forces could seek to influence the Starmer administration and urged the Prime Minister to exercise caution in making decisions that could negatively affect his government.
The latest constitutional discussions among Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have consequently renewed interest in Primate Ayodele’s earlier warnings about the future of the United Kingdom.
However, whether the current political development will ultimately lead to the break-up of the United Kingdom remains a matter for the political and constitutional processes that may follow.
