The League of Yewa-Awori Media Practitioners (LOYAMP) has congratulated Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate in Ogun State.
In a statement jointly signed by its National President, Abu-Satar Idowu Hamed, and Secretary-General, Simon Fakeye, the association described the outcome of the APC caucus meeting held on April 13, 2026, as both historic and jinx-breaking.
According to LOYAMP, the peaceful and orderly consensus process reflects growing unity within the party and lays a solid foundation for a potential landslide victory in the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
“It is indeed a remarkable achievement—one that represents not just a personal victory, but a collective triumph for Yewa-Awori and Nigeria at large,” the statement read.
The association reaffirmed its readiness to work closely with Adeola’s campaign team, in line with resolutions reached during a previous engagement in November 2025. It also pledged continued support in amplifying the senator’s achievements, particularly in constituency development and broader socio-economic impact.
Hamed clarified that LOYAMP is a professional body of journalists and publishers drawn from the five local government areas of Ogun West, committed to balanced reporting, constructive engagement, and development-focused journalism.
He commended Adeola’s performance in the Senate over the past three years, noting his contributions to youth empowerment, infrastructure, and economic growth across Yewa-Awori land.
“We acknowledge and commend your unwavering commitment to your constituents, which has positively impacted our people,” he said.
The LOYAMP president also highlighted the role of the media as a bridge between leaders and the public, stressing its responsibility in fostering informed discourse, promoting development, and strengthening democratic values.
He further praised Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for what he described as inclusive leadership that has renewed hope among the Yewa-Awori people.
LOYAMP assured that it would continue to promote credible information about developmental initiatives while strengthening its partnership with Adeola, particularly in public engagement and information dissemination.
The association reiterated its commitment to accurate and balanced coverage of the senator’s activities and expressed confidence in his chances at the polls.
It also wished him a successful campaign and victory in the forthcoming governorship election, praying for wisdom, good health, and strength to achieve greater milestones.
